R&D, public funding and subsidized financing

ANFIA supports its member companies that carry out research and innovation activities in finding funding opportunities for their innovation. Through lobbying we collaborate with the relevant institutions and stakeholders to define regional, national and European programming tools to promote technological development for the automotive sector. We follow technological roadmaps and research paths which we have already been identified as opportunities for industrial research and experimental development which can be carried out in synergy.

In 2011 ANFIA established ANFIA AUTOMOTIVE, a consortium company whose main purpose is to promote, develop and coordinate the management and development activities of research and innovation projects carried out by its members. ANFIA AUTOMOTIVE is intended as a forum for national automotive sector players carrying out R&D activities to jointly define sector challenges, in particular the "social challenge of sustainable mobility" set as a priority by the Horizon 2020 strategy.

The consortium represents the entire automotive sector within the Distretto ad alta tecnologia per i Trasporti e Logistica DATTILO, established in Campania in partnership with representatives of the railway and logistics sectors. ANFIA AUTOMOTIVE is also a founding member of CLUSTER TRASPORTI ITALIA 2020, a national partner in the field of land and sea surface mobility, of which one member of the Strategic and Management Steering Committee is also a member.

ANFIA, in collaboration with the Cluster Trasporti Italia 2020 manages the organisation and has started mapping the areas of competence and the innovation and training needs. This has been done in order to stimulate the proactivity of companies on tenders and to create partnerships. ANFIA also ensures coordination with representatives of strategic decision-making forums: National Transport Clusters and other Clusters of interest (e.g. Smart factory), the Italian delegation H2020 Transport (visit the link to learn more), Confindustria, CLEPA, ACEA and ERTRAC.
