Motor vehicles Manufacturers
The ANFIA Manufacturers Group includes manufacturers of motor vehicles in general - including trucks, trailers, specialised vehicles and/or vehicles dedicated for specific uses - and of customised fittings and equipment for motor vehicles. It is organised into 8 sections, according to the criteria of production specialisation.
President: Massimo REPETTO (Piaggio & C.)
This section includes longstanding bus manufacturers who, despite the serious crisis that has affected the entire collective transport sector, have continued to defend "made in Italy" on a European and world-wide basis, representing companies with excellence in design and production and which still boasts a complete range of technologically advanced products at the highest levels of quality.
The Motor Vehicles Section represents the original nucleus around which ANFIA was formed in 1912. The current member companies produce cars and commercial vehicles.

The Road Tankers Section brings together manufacturers of road tankers for use in the transport of hazardous goods (fuel, compressed gas, etc.). This section works together with the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport - Directorate General for Motor Vehicles and fully supports the aims of road safety awareness and the establishment of construction rules for road tankers, their equipment, accessories and fittings. The manufacturers belonging to this section give their views to the Ministry officials involved in the meetings to update the International ADR Agreement and responsible for the transposition of the Agreement into national legislation.
President: Pierluigi Roveda (Acerbi Industrial Vehicles)
The Truck-mounted cranes Section brings together leading manufacturers of articulated boom hydraulic cranes ("Loader Cranes") and often work together with the PLE Section. The productive fabric of these two sectors, in Italy is mainly made up of medium sized companies characterised by a high degree of flexibility, specialisation and technical know-how, factors that make this national segment one of the most respected in the European market and thus enabling companies to successfully face competition from much larger multinational groups. The two Sections work effectively together with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and INAIL, fully sharing their goals in terms of health and safety in the workplace and providing support for the drafting of documents and operational tools useful for developing a culture of occupational health and safety. The manufacturers in the two Sections are also directly involved in the continuous updating of standards that have been approved in accordance with the Machinery Directive for the sectors for which they are responsible. The experts within the Truck-mounted cranes Section actively support the revision of EN 12999 "Cranes - Loader Cranes" in CEN/TC147/WG18.
President: Mario Ferrari (Fassi Gru)
The PLE Section consists of the leading manufacturers of personal lifting equipment, typically installed on trucks, and often works in synergy with the Truck-mounted Crane Section. The productive fabric of these two sectors, in Italy, is principally made up of medium sized companies characterised by their high level of flexibility, specialisation and technical expertise. These factors make the Italian sector one of the most respected on the European market and enable companies to successfully face competition from much larger multinational groups. The two Sections cooperate closely with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and INAIL, fully endorsing its aims of health and safety prevention for workers and providing support for the drawing up of documents and operational tools aimed at developing a culture of safety in the workplace. The Manufacturers of these two Sections are also directly involved in the activities of continuous updating the approved regulations in accordance with the Machinery Directive for their respective sectors. Experts from the High Work Platforms section are involved in the work of the CEN/TC98/WG1 regarding the revision of EN 280 "Mobile Elevating Work Platforms - Design calculations, stability criteria, construction, safety, examinations and testing".

The Thermal Sensitive Transportation Section includes manufacturers of vehicles for the transport of perishable foodstuffs. This Section works effectively with the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport - General Direction for Motorisation, sharing fully its objectives for safeguarding food safety in the transportation of refrigerated and frozen products and providing its support to the defining of manufacturing rules applicable to insulated vans and refrigeration appliances. The section's members give their feedback to Ministry officials involved in the updating sessions of the ATP International Agreement and who are responsible for the implementation of the said Agreement into national legislation.
President: Bruno Cortecci (Plastoblok)
The Container Section is made up of companies that manufacture towed vehicles for the transportation of goods. It is part of the "Exceptional Transport" subsection which groups together vehicle manufacturers that exceed the size and/or mass limits laid down in the Highway Code. In 2009, ANFIA proposed to the Ministry of Transport a road trial (called "Project 18") of an optimised combination of trailer plus a semi-trailer with a total length of up to 18 metres. It was a project to increase the efficiency of road freight transport per unit of load, at least for volume intensive freight transport. The project was carefully monitored in order to collect experimental data on driveability, fuel economy and overall logistical efficiency. This Section's members delivered the 330 elongated semi-trailers to the participating road haulage companies.
President: Andrea Zambon Bertoja (Rimorchi Bertoja)
The Ecological Services Vehicles section brings together manufacturers of urban hygiene equipment (compactors, sweepers and equipment for suction and hydrodynamic cleaning), a niche of excellence in the Italian production sector.
